Squeak, you mean the new "PX" faux-pivot? I've got the '04-'05 P12 and P12Jib and both work extremely well.
I think that for almost all recreational skiers the differences among step-in styles -- Salomon, Look/Rossi, Marker, Tyrolia, ESS/VAR Atomic -- are pretty negligible. the biggest difference now that the pivot turntable heel is gone is the Look/Rossi toe, which has great elasticity allowing lower DIN settings for equal performance.
as your skiing becomes more aggressive and bigger impacts become part of the binding's job, you'll probably find that the majority of unsponsored skiers are on Look Pivot ('05 and earlier) and Salomon bindings. Marker seems to have fewer fans. Whether that's deserved, I don't know.
I had some Elan M666 Fusion for 3 ski days last season, the Fusion Tyrolia binding worked very well for me. I had no complaints on its function.
