Just something very odd I have noticed. I have been working a fair amount on short fall-line swing turns. I think that this is a good drill to work with my flat ski skiing, as my tendenacy is to be on edge. I find that I can't do this consistently, but when it works it really works. One way that I can get into the particular rhythm and movement pattern is to start with a falling-leaf turn and transition into the swing turn. But I've noticed something else weird. When I am backlit on the slope and can see my shadow - esp. when it is dead ahead - I can get into a perfect rhythm effortlessly. What is going on here? Is it some kind of immediate feedback/que, or is this just a question of ego?
