This should get really confusing with the Rossi B3. Last year's B3 (gray and white) is this year's B4 (green), while this year's B3 (orange) didn't exist last year. Next year's B3 looks like this years B4.

The Metron 11 B5 is one ugly ski!

But, not as ugly as this years B5. Note the different dimensions on the B5, a 124 tip? Also, on the Salomons, that does not look like a "driver" toe piece.

With them changing the graphics...again...there will be deals to be had on this years crop. I will be keeping an eye out for some M;EX's

I'd give the ugly ski award to that Rossi 9S. Yikes!

Some ugly skis all around there IMO, esp. Atomic and Head. Atomic's kind of butchered the look on the Race and SX skis (what happened to yellow SL skis? Always the best looking ones IMO).
Head's got some pretty awful looking ones too - I'm glad I got my i.SL's this season, next years look like the paint scheme from Speedracer's car or something, and the iM82 is quite possibly the ugliest colour one could come up with short of some awful shade of purple. I do like the new scheme on the i.XRC 1400 though - Head skis looked far better this year and last when they were fairly simple (last years 1100 SW for example).

Still looks like some interesting skis, esp. from my personal favourite Head - iM82 and 1400 with sandwich construction now. It will also be interesting to see how Beta 5 works with the SX 12 and 10. Also looks like there's a new retail plate on Atomic's race skis (any word on the race stock versions? still the old race plate or black WC plate?).

Everything there looks hideous. Good thing it is only the skinny skis there. Why do fat ski graphics look so much better than skinny skis these days?

Yep, that's most interesting of all.

Salomon bindings...

(scroll down for pics)

Edit: and if you click on the link in the second paragraph, it takes you to a presentation which shows a little more.

As long as it still has the old mounting pattern, I really don't care

(The 1080 gun is the widest - 101mm at 188cm)

Do the manufacturers all get together at a convention and agree on a graphic look for the following year or something? "Comic book race cars" seems to be their choice this go-round.

Atomics used to go to 11. Now they go to 12.
Atomic abandons the yellow-means-slalom convention (as noted above)
Rossignol race skis are, indeed, ugly ... and the current ones are about the best looking, to my taste.

It's hard to tell whether there are any significant design changes, even with both German and French captions. The retail Atomics appear still to have some version of the Beta shape. They've apparently developed a new generation of little bumps on the topsheet ("Aerospeed 2"). That's exciting.

First, welcome to Epicski!

Yes, i know who you are. You know your stuff. It's great you joined our community. I am sure you can help us.

I apologize if i did anything wrong. I just copied the link. I did not copy the pics and posted them directly on the thread. I never wanted to "steal" your work. Sorry. People here often post links to websites. It's a common thing.

Btw, i have two questions for you. I hope you can help me.

First, could you tell me what are the differences between this year's 9S WC in 155cm and next year's model? I would like to know if next year's model is stiffer or not. I was told it has a straighter sidecut.
Also, how much stiffr is this year's 9S WC in a 155cm compared to the 2005 nodel? Last year's model was very oft.

Second, could you tell me what is the sole length of the R2005 in size EU 40.5? Is it a 300mm sole?

Thanks a lot!
Jamie

Hello Dani - and thanks for the information!

Hi Jamie,

do you speak italian? German? French?

I hope, because my englisch is very... bad!

I regret, but at the moment I have'nt some information about the Worldcup Serie (9S & 9X): may be in 14 days...

R-2005: I have a 41.5 EU (8) = 308mm, 40.5 (7) = 300mm...

Ciao & thank's a lot for the "welcome"!

P.S.: do you write in fantaski also? When no, where do you landing there?

Dani, i know only a few words in Italian (what i learned from reading the news and the posts from the forum) but i can understand pretty well what what i want to read. I also know a few words in German but it is harder to read. French? Well, i'd rather read than write.

For me it is easy to understand what is written on Fantaski b/c the Italian, Spanish, French, Romanian and Portuguese are Latin languages. I'm from Bucharest. This also means that i can understand better what you are saying than most people.

Yes i am a member of the Fantaski community, too. In fact, i even asked you a question on thread about next year's skis but you probably missed it. There are some guys there who speak English very well. My username is Redcarver on the Fantaski forum. I guess i'm PROBABLY the only one from my country who is a member on these forums. I know more things about gear now even than the reps. Yesterday i went to the shop where i had bought my Tecnica XT-17s and there was a guy who told me that the XT is very, very stiff and should only be used by racers.: For me it is easy to choose a boot now. Luckly, i can help my parents to get the boots they need and some friends of mine. If i did not join about these forums or went to Austria to meet some friends i would be just one of them. But i'm not! That's the truth.

Thanks for the info on the R2005. It is just as i thought it would be. I know that the sole is 3mm longer than the R2004.
I remember the thread you started on Fantaski about the differences between the R2004 and R2005.
I have a question: did you get the R2005 in the same size as the R2004?
Is the R2005 a much better boot than the R2004?

Thanks again,
Jamie

Just goes to show... I like it. :

I'm wondering about the dimensions, too. I wonder what happens to the current 11/B5 sidecut. Is it gone?

Didn't someone say that they were picking up Atomic's bindings?

not looking at the Supercross model above it, are you?

looks like a utilitarian grey, no flash at all, pretty nice if you ask me, better than diamond facets in alternating colors!

1080 Gun graphics take a lot of cues from the PM Gear Bro Model. I wonder if that was intended.

Has anyone seen or know anything about next years Salomon Crossmax V12?

It would take a lot of effort on Salomon's part to make it worse than this year's but I'm sure they've done their best...
