cutting LEKI pole

I have a pair of Leki Trigger 52" poles that I would like to cut to 50". I would like to remove the handles and cut the aluminum. Any suggestions, and are the handles on like the regular rubber handles or are they held on with epoxy or glue ? THANKS

heat the grips with hot water, steam or a hot air gun and then twist off.

usually they have some glue and the heat helps get that softer

mntlion has it right. The best method I've found is to submerge the handles in some water that's been brought up to boiling (then turn off the burner). I heat the handles for about 3-5 minutes and then put the handle into a door jam and pull the pole out. It really works well.
