Seems odd that I have to leave the great state of Maine to get a boot alignment from someone with a rep. I was discussing this unfortunate phenomenon with a ski shop owner today who referred me to Stan and Dan's in North Conway, NH. I have 03' Tecnica Alu Icon's with foam fit. I have never felt centered in these boots - always too far forward , and never quite upright enough. This combined with ultra stiff 6* in 175cm made it so difficult to flatten the ski underfoot, especially at slow speeds. After three or four consecutive days of skiing, I had bloodied shins from pushing so hard and quad spasms up the chair. I have remedied the ski part - Elan M666 in 168cm with Look P10's are on the way. I also got a pair of Superfeet greens that I put in the boots today, and immediately noticed an improvement over the chinzy OEM flats. The more I have read the more important a proper alignment seems to be, and that's what I plan to have done tomorrow. For those of you who have been through this, are there things I should be telling the tech, or listening for. And once it is done, can I expect a eurika moment in the shop, or does that come only on the slopes when strap the boards on? In other words, if it done right, should I have the sensation in the shop of a more natural and balanced stance? Many thanks.
