Bay Area sliders: Tri-City Closing...

I really don't know if this is new news or not, but I just heard an ad on the radio that Tri-City Sporting Goods in Fremont is closing their doors, and they're marking all their merchandise down. I believe they said 40 to 70% off everything.

I was just in there one week ago (pretty sure the Going Out Of Business business hadn't been announced yet) and they had some pretty good inventory on hand, including their usual well-stocked selection of ski and snowboard boots.

Funny, on a trip this weekend I was telling my buddy how the store felt kind of empty, kinda like a store going out of business.

Was there today - still a good selection of skis/sizes. It was packed, but mostly with boarders. I asked the clerk when the last day was, and he said "when it's all gone." If I had to guess, I'd say that could happen by next weekend.

I got Volkl AC3's for $594, and there were plenty left! They had my boots for $100 less than I paid, and I got a pretty good deal at REI.

It's all going fast. I dropped in on Saturday afternoon and they had some pretty good inventory left, but I went back just before closing Sunday night (tonight) and, damn, over half the clothing racks were missing and the ski department was in shambles. I agree, the snow gear won't last much longer. Bike & camping stuff is gone. Looks like the fishing department is relatively untouched, though.
