cool, actually I think that we met last spring at Squaw at the gondola bldg. Weren't you with dchan? I was there with my wife. We never saw each other the rest of the day. We are driving in from Santa Rosa, hope to leave here by 4am arrive at the lodge ? I figure 5-5 1/2 hrs with breakfast stop. What are your plans?

MTT, I was planning on going 80 to 395 to the mnt. Are there any short cuts that are driveable with current and forcast road conditions? I can bring the 4wd if needed but the sedan is a lot cheaper on gas and faster. Any reliable weekend forecasts?

I try to stay flexible on, non-pow days.

Saturday I will probably show -up around 11AM. I may come earlier. I would probably not ski with you all day, but would like to give you an easy Blue level tour of the entire mountain (Weather permitting)

I would not drive down to Reno and back up to Mt.Rose. Way too far,
Go 80 to Truckee, go 267 to Kingsbeach, take 431 up from Incline to Mt.Rose
You may want to stop for Breakfast @ Biltmore or CrystalBay club. You do not need to bring food or drink to Mt.Rose lots of good affordable food and drink.
BTW Rose also serves breakfast (I have not done it)

As you know a Sedan is usually fine around the lake. However, in winter conditions Snowing or just snowed? Mt.Rose is probably the toughest drive around the lake.

I will Post or PM tomorrow about solid plans.

Last resort look in the Ski rack just outside the Door to the Timbers lounge, if you see big blue skis (Bro Models) I am @ the BAR. I you do not recognize me? Ask for Change for a nickel near the Cash register.

And yes I was with DChan in the Tram line last spring

I'd love to meet up with you guys too. My friend and I have never been to Mt. Rose, athough I tried last Sunday, but they shut the lifts from wind right as we got there.

Any interest in giving two cute chicks-on-sticks a tour of the mountain? We are both life-long skiiers and can ski most anywhere (although generally choose not to ski off cliffs and in other crazy places.) We'd love a tour from someone who knows the mountain.

It's an EPIC event in the making. Invite all the Tahoe/Nevada/Bay area /Sac, Bears to join in ! Could be fun?

Nix on the big crouds/ I am anti-social and do better in the small groups.

You will have a good time and get the skinny on bottl necks dangerous spots to avoid, I will even take you to a lace where you can walk right to he edge of a 53deg chute and look without sking it. (Its Easy)

And Elevis will be everywhere.

Mt. Blows

Made 1 run with the Kevensons today, nice people. I was happy to meet them.

The day started with the longest lift lines I have ever seen @ the Rose. The wind put in a appearance. The snow was SWEET. Chutes were soft chalk with 2 to 4" of wind buff (DAMM)

And Elvis was in the house.

Ending the day with drinks and The band (Left of Center)
God Bless America
