I stay there because there are no openings anywhere. When there were openings in my field they did not want to hire me because I have too much experience and they didn't want to pay me...I even told them I would take a cut. They would rather hire a new teacher, one fresh out of school that they could put at the very bottom of the pay scale than a teacher with 23 years experience.
It hasn't always been this way...just since we got the new interim principal. She comes from a parochial background and does not see any value to Special Education...she would rather throw these kids into the back of a room and ignore them...call it inclusion, or ship them out of "her" school.
I am NOT the only one she does this to...she does it to everyone. If it wasn't for "my kids", and I have a great group this year, I would be gone...job or no job. I know there are others that feel the same way.
