Props to "dawgcatching"

Thread Starter
I bought some Fischer RX9's with Rail Flex bindings. I was a little hesitant as I wanted something quicker turning but the 165cm rx9, can make some pretty quick turns.

Anyways... If you are considering buying anything from Scott, just do it. I talked to him for a while on the phone, he explained all about the skis, gave me a ton of other ski options and the facts. He didn't really push one ski over another, just told me their characteristics and left it for me to decide.
Give him a call:
Scott
Village Bike and Ski
541-593-2453

He shipped them to me in Michigan, and they got there relatively quickly considering the obvious delay for shipping during the busiest shipping time of the year (Christmas).

Props Scott. Thank you!

I love the skis, Been through A little powder, a lot of ice, and some soft mushy cr@p that I can decribe as a wet wet slush about 3" thick covering Ice, and of course groomed conditions. So far so good, they ROCK!

I agree!!!!!!!

I have purchased two pairs in less than a year from Scott and not only does he offer great prices but his ski knowledge and service is awesome.

Is that why the big stix 86's are for sale? I debated on getting the 88's but got a great deal on some leftover 05 big stix 86's from Scott last month and could not pass on them.

yeah, that and the fact that as a result of trying a bunch of different skis since my return to skiing in 2000, I've got to the point where I like the feel of race construction skis, particularly the austrian ones.

the BigStix 8.6 are great for 65-75% of my skiing, but they are not that good for hard snow skiing or small turn situations (tight trees)... or small vert mountains.

Snowbowl tends to get hard snow and it has great tree skiing. and LT is a small vert hill.

last -- I'm trying to have a one-ski quiver (uh... make that 2 ski with my AT sticks).

I'm gambling on the vast majority of iM 88 reviews holding true for my purposes. I'm pretty confident they will.

now if they would just arrive, so I can get the bindings mounted and get them out on the snow.

I just want to add my own endorsement. I bought a pair of Monster 77 last year (end of season sale). I got great service and a great price. He is honest and helpful. Don't hesitate to buy from Dawg.

Scott gets my total endorsement. Got a pair of Head Xrc 1100 chips from him last year. Knowledge and service were the best.
If he carries the ski, he is always a good place to check with first. He will even recommend a ski he doesn't carry if he feels it is best for you.

true. i got the 160 rx9 from scott and the deal was hassle free.

I agree

Scott got me a great deal on on a pair of Head Supershapes. He answered all my questions, discussed numerous options and gave great feedback which helped me make a decision. I highly reccomend buying skis through Scott.

Just got my 666's from Scott. These demo's are in mint condition. Guess someone's got to benefit from the lack of snow in the Northwest last year.

Can't wait to try them tomorrow.

By the way, Scott, do you know what the bevel is on these?

Thanks!

Additional Props for Dawg

Just bought a pair of Elan Magfire 10s from Scott. He was great, helpful, and best of all cheap. Thanks Scott. They smoked straight out of the box, even on crappy snow.

dawgcatching

I second the praise of others for Scott. He came through on time and as promised. I bought two pair of Head skis on his recomendation. Couldn't be happier. I would buy more but I already have too many pairs of skis.

Another (belated) plug for Scott. Great deal and great service. In fact ended up buying 2 pairs !

Thanks Scott, raced on the Head sl RD at the weekend. A big difference from my 3Vs, now just got to learn to ski them:

He is great! Elan RIPsticks mounted and shipped ($575) WOW.

His prices do indeed look good. In his "mid season sales" he lists prices that are cheaper than pro deals (which given the way MSRP is constructed are not really big deals), and about the same as hunting on eBay, which is random and not guaranteed. And from what I read here it looks like he is a smart seller who knows that customer service is what sustains a business. I wish I had checked here before getting my XRCs, but I will probably do so next time.

Scott,

Thanks for the awesome hookup on the bigstix86. I just got back from a week in Tahoe and they ate up everything. In fact they were so surprisingly good even on groomers that I did not even ski the RX8's that I also brought. Thanks for the GREAT price and recomendation on these, I love them. I will try to post a review tonight.

Two more thumbs up...

Got my Rx-8's today. Great price, good prep and shipping, friendly service. Too bad the season in the Midwest is wilting fast and I may have to look at these for six months before I can give em a shot. Thanks again, Scott...
