Any one familiar with...

Dynastar Big Max 2's. I have been offered a pair by a friend who got them from another friend but has never had a chance to use them.

They are 197's, I know a bit long for shaped ski's, but I am 6'3 and a fairly aggressive skier, don’t know what I am by your 1-9 scale but last time I attended a lesson that graded I was a 2- by the Austrian ski school, their system runs from 5 to 1. (1 allowing you to go on to instructor training apparently.)

I would appreciate any input you can give.

Is this ski along the same line as the Max 3 and up to 6? I've seen the 6 on our rack at Gart. The 6 seemed to be an intermediate ski also. it seemed to have a soft shovel (tip). I can't remember if it was called Big Max or just Max.

There was also just the Dynastar "Big" - they were not quite as fat as Atomic Powder Pluses - but I had them in 198's!! The surface area was rediculous. In powder, especially heavy powder - no skier or telemarker could keep up with them - they made moderate steep powder runs into high speed tree bashing! Fun ski - but definately very specific, on the groomed it felt like you were on waterskis!

The Max series was not Dynastar's proudest moment. The shop I work at cut Dynastar after they put the Max's out. Thankfully, their new skis rock. 197? Way big for anyone in a carve ski. Leave 'em, skis are getting so good so fast, you don't want Dynastar's first attempt at shape skis.
