Look!
We've got a Snowboard Discussion Forum!

What a relief. Now it will be much easier to find the "Snowboarders Suck" threads.

You could always just make a new one everytime the previous one falls off the first page..that does seem to be the trend around here.

And the reason we can get a Snowboarder's Forum, but can't get a Trip Report Forum is.....???

what's wrong with having a snowboard forum on epicski? no one has to read it if they don't want to. there's already an off season sports forum and a humor forum. snowboarding seems more on point than either of those.

seems to me that folks who don't like snowboarding threads would rather have them here than cluttering up the ski forums.

Works for me, although most of the previous snowboader threads here should have been in Random Humor.

I think I may be the first snowboarder to post in this new forum, and I'd like to say I think this is great. NOT because it will relieve the "snowboarding sucks" clutter from the general ski areas, but because now we may have a place to have serious discussions of snowboarding technique and snowboard instruction. Despite the obvious jokes, not all snowboarders are operating on less than 2 brain cells.

I'm not even a boarder, but I say

BOOO I agree with PHil

Brace yerself.

I'm thoroughly pannicked that the existance of a forum for boarders on a site named Epic*SKI*, populated by a bunch of 45 year-old aspiring carvers, will trigger a massive influx of baggie-pantsed park rats.

We're *just exactly* who they wanna hang out with! :

I used to ride a race carve board for 4 years just before skis went "shaped".

A lot of skiers want to know how to "ride" a board and vice verse. I think the addition was long overdue.

I don't understand either ...I don't understand what is lacking in the Resorts, Conditions & Travel forum to post TRs. I could see if that forum were dominated by TRs that the collective might consider breaking up that forum into more defined segements.

...and you see tons of snowboarding threads in the general skiing area, right? I didn't think so. Other than people bitching about them, you could count boarding threads on one hand.

My guess is this is a way to encourge more boarders to post, which is fine. Do I smell snowboarding instruction on the horizon as part of the EpicSki events?

The Trip Report forum has been requested by many over the years. I was just wondering why it has never come about. Hell, I like EpicSki the way it is so I don't need any changes.

I hear you...

I'm going to do something about it... I'm posting a trip report (TR)

I am a skier and a rider. I teach both. I asked for a snowboard forum because there is no other snowboard forum that has the "civility" and "maturity" and "inertial mass" of Epic Ski. There are enough of us multi sport people already here and enough previous civil discussions on riding in the Instruction forum that this idea should have a chance to sink or swim.

Bravo.

My thoughts exactly. The only other forums on the 'net that come close to the civility, maturity, and expertise found on Epic are the PSIA/AASI forums (too hard to use and not enough activity to be truly useful) and bomber (99.9% hardbooters).

I think many people will be pleasantly surprised by the discussions that go on here, both between existing members and new members that are attracted by the idea of a snowboard forum that dares to rise above the "bro-brah" stereotype.

Check again!

Bottom line: I've been swamped. Mostly because I've skied so much this season!
