Just over 2 hours to ABC-base camp (2400m vertical). That's normally a 3 day walk!http://news.nationalgeographic.com/n..._siffredi.htmlhttp://www.k2news.com/gerge5e.htm
Thanks for the K2news link extremecarver. I remember I've read the dispaches of the 'Everest 50' expedition on it (http://www.k2news.com/everestnews3/everest50team.htm
), and had been struck by the numerous and casual notes of dying people and lying corpses, as well as the frightenig descriptions of the base camp (a village of hundreds, in the most hostile environment, littered with empty oxygen bottles, where litteraly sick people wait for the opportunity to take their chance).
It's another world, and those who live in are made of another stuff !
I wont nor cant ski Everest.
