Arrived at Northstar on Monday. The day was Blue Bird all the way. The crowds were non-existant, the snow conditions were firm to slightly soft in areas. Better than expected. I rate north star this week as #2 of those I skied. Stayed 3 nights at Marriot Grand residence on one of their presentation pkgs. $225 for 3 nights and $100 cash back. The lodging was excelent. The staff were great. The hot tubs and all facilities were great and the location ideal for skiing at Heavenly and Sierra. We checked the skis at Heavenly ski shop for free. Picked up on Tue Morning and walked 50 feet to the godaola. Skied all day Tue at Heavenly. The day was another Blue bird day. The snow conditions were groomed, hard pack with a bit of fluff on the surface on many runs due to the snow making. I rated it # 1 of the 3 resorts that we skied. The temps are cold enough now for snow making all night. Wed we didn't ski but lounged in the pool and hot tubs and took in a movie at Harveys. Thurs on the way home stopped by for a couple hours at Sierra. The day was a bit overcast. The snow was HARD and icy. I rate it #3 out of the three we skiied. Tahoe needs snow BUT if you are going this week I suggest Heavenly. We did not get to Kirkwood and I hear it is better than Heavenly right now with 100% of the mountain open.
