In my 35 years of skiing, I doubt I've put things on in the parking lot more than 15 times. And always I was skiing with my brother who thinks nothing of cold boots. I insert my feet in the boots when I'm in a warm room, be it at the current hill (where I have a seasonal locker for my skis -- but never for my boots which go on the boot warmers at home)....or at the on-mountain condo we used to own back East.... or at a mountain where my daughter is racing, where I schlep all items from the lift to the lodge. I get a locker for the day in those conditions and I stow extra gloves, extra layers, emergency lunch (power bars or something in case I discover I forgot to bring money), emergency money, extra digital camera power packs, extra mittens, neoprene face mask, etc. etc. Can you tell I'm a mom? Anytime I have to say "darn, I left x at home", it gets added somehow to the emergency supplies depot.
