Backcountry Test of Helmet Safety - RESULTS

I've been a huge advocate of Leedom Prophet helmets on this thread, as many of you know, and now there is some proof of just how good they really are....rated #1 in the test

REI-Outlet just had a sale on them last week....60% off....so see if they still have any sizes left (remember to upsize it by one size over whatever size you fit in a Giro Nine)

Nice to see that the G10 that I just bought did so well.

Yesterday was my first day skiing with a helmet and I was kicking myself for putting it off so long. The helmet was so comfortable and warm, and by fluke my Smith Goggles worked perfectly with it.

I was looking around thinking "I can't imagine why anyone wouldn't want to wear this helmet". What really boggled my mind was the kids skiing the park without a helmet.

It was so comfortable. I had the vents open all day and it was perfect. Warm but not hot. Another great aspect...NO hat head at the end of the day!

Those tests are b.s. Anyone knows you use a watermelon, not a cantaloupe.

is your head shaped like watermelon???? what they should have used is whatever Consumer Reports uses - a crash dummy head with sensors that record impacts and has the same density as a human noggin

I know it was a joke, and I didn't REALLY think your head was shaped like a watermelon

the pictures of the cantaloupe were however cool

I picked up the G10 for myself and my wife (I use Smith goggles too). I really like how the G10 is a combo of the Fuse and the Giro Nine. It fits my head so well, it's warmer than the Fuse, but it still has the vents to cool off if necessary. Giro did a really good job on this one.

too bad my helmet isn't multiple impact or i'd love to stick a melon in it and see how it does...

fyi.....there's a screaming deal at Overstock.com on the Leedom Prophet (#1 rated helmet)

it's $69.99 + $1 shipping - 10% for new custOmers = $63.99 shipped anywhere in the US (the helmet retails for $140 and has the same features as a Giro Fuse with sliding vents, etc)

BUT THE $1 SHIPPING OFFER ENDS TONIGHT AT MIDNIGHT

they've got the best colors and sizes so go for it....just make sure to UPSIZE it by one size over whatever size you may take in a Giro Nine (ie. if size L in Giro Nine, get XL in Leedom Prophet and etc)
