Cheap accommodation?

Thread Starter

I bought season pass from Heavenly and it comes with 3 days lift tickets at their Colorado sisters' resorts, vail, beaver creek, keystone and breckenridge.

I want to go ski at Heavenly during Dec 23-26. However, I don't think there will be much snow. So I'm trying to find alternative but I don't want to pay a lot of money since I just got back from Whistler.

Say I can redeem my miles for air tix, do you think I can find cheap hotels/motels in these Colorado resorts? Can you recommend some, please?

I'm not sure why I'm divulging this info.... But, Try the Park Meadows Lodge ( in Vail.

They're cheap for Vail (sometimes they have rooms for $129) and have shuttles to and from Vail Village and Lionshead for skiing. They don't have a shuttle into town in the evening, but its less than a 5 minute walk from a 5-star resort that has a free shuttle into town all day and night. Its also walking distance to the public bus stops.

The rooms have kitchenettes and they also have a shuttle a couple days a week to the grocery store.

Let me stress one point though, don't stay there if you're planning on spending a lot of time in the rooms. They're clean and have everything you need, but they're very very small. I think a 1-bedroom is like 350 square feet. I like it b/c I basically go to the rooms to eat and sleep.

Stay in Dillon or Frisco and you have several inexpensive choices (such as Days Inn at Silverthorne or Comfort Suites in Dillon) or Summit Inn(Frisco) and you can drive short drive to Breck or Keystone or about 40 min to Vail. In Breck, the Breck Inn and The Lodge at Breckenridge has good prices (or did )for a basic hotel room.
