That's exactly what i wanted to say. If they fit your foot well and the performance angles work for you (or you can make them work) this will probably be a great setup.
I asked Jeff Bergerron if the XT is capable of delivering plenty of performance to stand up to the challeng of the new boots (the Lange plug for example) and he said that the XT can do that w/o any problems. And it is a better freeskiing/race boot than most other race boots.
In the end it's your choice, but i would give the XT another chance. There are otrher boots you could consider (if you want an ultra high performance boot) such as the Atomic RT Ti, Nordica Dobermann WC 150 but they are not freeskiing friendly. Read Jeff's statements. You will see what i mean.
Btw, aren't you that guy who was asking on many different forums if the XT was a lateral boot?
