Who's to say that he isnt a better skier than you? On hill colissions are not that common, your more likely to injure your self durring or fall, or hell your even more likely to get hurt crossing the street or driving to the mountian than to be injured by another skier.
The reality is this.....
A ski resort can not eliminate all "risks" because of the inherant risk of participating in any extreme sport. (example: skiing powder with skis inapropriate for powder, an intermediate skier trying an advance hill for the first time)
However, there are risks that can be eliminated. A helmet with spikes is one of those risks.
You can bet that the ski resort will share some of the liability responsibility if they don't make the kid get a different helmet and someone gets hurt. So......the resort has to ask the kid/kids parents, to find an alternate helmet.
Saddly, we live in a world filled with individuals who don't want any one to tell them what to do. But then they are the first to blame some one for "not warning them" when they do something stupid.
Back to one of the earlier posts. We are forced to protect the idiots from themselves
