Ain't it great to start a season like this ..... ???

If you can, try and catch Bode's 2nd run, very exciting skiing. He made a couple big mistakes that I was almost sure would kill him, but he came through with his incredibly agressive skiing to pull out a great win.

Also a very good example of why I wish they'd show more technical (GS and SL) events on TV - I found it to be a much more exciting race than any of the DH and SG they've had from Beaver Creek and Louise in the past weeks.

If you're in Canada, Sportsnet is showing it again late tonight, as well as sometime tomorrow (you'll have to check their site for the precise details).

Here's a website that has all the WC races:

http://www.sport1.at/coremedia/gener...d=3217348.html

You need to teach yourself a little German, but RTL=GS, abfahrt=DH, and standeitlung=T1 (for the connection speed).

They update it very soon after each race. You can usually catch the top 5 from both men and women.

Regarding the GS, that is one of the toughest sets that I've seen. I can't believe he won after falling on his hip, truly amazing.

Fantastic results for the US the last couple days. Only a hundreth of a second away from a podium sweep. And Schlopy did his second run with a broken hand (broke in first run) and his pole taped to it. Wow.

And lets not these fantastic results by the guys cause the girls acomplishments to be overlooked.

Great results, US men and Kildow's win - too bad this stuff isn't shown live, heck, at all in the States. Is there a dvd with best runs of the year on it maybe? Just read this quote from Bode in skiracing.com after seeing this thread.
“For those of you who don’t know ski racing, it’s not faster to go on your ass, but it adds excitement some times.”

Of course, I'm still amazed and wondering why both Rahlves and Miller switched to dark lenses for yesterday's downhill broadcast today on NBC, even with all the flat light (looked like Darron had the hi-intensity yellow in before his run, then switched to a dark brown).

Nice link. That was one of the wildest GS runs I've seen. Amazing.

Agree, nice link. Bode can recover like no other racers, he is not human! Daron's runs were solid, showes what a great GS skier he has become. I really think he will do well in GS this season. Great day for the US Ski Team.

Great site! I watched the GS runs full screen. If you wanna see Bode on his ass, it's 2:15 into his video clip.

Get techsmith camtasia off of limewire (video capture program). You need a rather fast computer for it to run smoothly though.
