Happy Thanksgiving

Hope everyone has a nice Thanksgiving day. We have much to be thankful for as we should think of those millions who are displaced by Katrina.

As for me, I'll be hunting in the morning with my Son and some friends and family. That's a tradition for us. Has been for many years. Then around noon, I'll get cleaned up and watch some football and get psyched for some Turkey and pie.

We are supposed to get three feet of snow by tomorrow night. I'd be thankful for that and especially the health of my family, friends and you guys.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Nothing like hunting on Thanksgiving morning. Wish I could, but too many boozy guests. Will take a few hunting Friday.

This morning I am pecan pickin'.

Don't forget to add deer burger to the stuffing! Decant and test, thoroughly, your heavy red wines.

Biggest deer (out of six) this season: 7 pt, 17.25 inch inside spread, 215 lb. :

Happy Thanksgiving, including our foreign friends!

I always get quite a chuckle out of how so many american kids think that Thanksgiving is a world-wide celebration. We know it's on because on the news, they might show the turkey being pardoned, in the comic segment after the weather report.

Happy Thanksgiving to all the Bears and all our loved ones.

I've got a whole lot to be thankful for this year:
  • A spectacular, loving wife in Lisamarie. Including especially the thrill of seeing her blossom in new paths as a writer and actor on top of everything else she does.
  • Two wonderful kids (who are actually starting to loosen up, mess up a little and generally start to explore life instead of following the "program" - Yaaahhh!)
  • Connections and reconnections with wonderful friends; new friends made and a very special old friend back in my life again.
  • A new life in a gorgeous mountain town.
  • Reconnecting with working in theatre again, and performing in general.
  • The start of a new career in helping others learn to ski.
  • Discovering that quitting my old job back east didn't cut the connection with them, but instead led them to ask me to consult with them part-time as a telecommuter.
There were some rocks and bumps on the trail, of course, but for Thanksgiving I'm going to just avoid the rocks and enjoy the bump run!

Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season and takes a moment to reflect on the richness in your own lives!

I'm thankful for the fact I'm going skiing for the next two days (finally).

I'm also thankful that I've achieved some measure of material stability (and a full quiver of skis) by doing a job I find enjoyable much of the time.

I'm thankful that I got approved for Christmas leave this year.

I'm thankful for mountains, snow, friends around the world, and the beautiful smell of ski wax as I put it on my skis.

Years ago in Bolton my routine was to stay at Fanny's till 10:30pm, grab some fish and chips, and then to go a nearby disco. I drove a Cortina, what a hoot.

We were never officially introduced (Sara Lee and me)...
And I hereby declare my ignorance, who is (or was) the lady?
Is she Intelligent? Nice? Young (not particularly important if the answer to next question is "yes")? Rich?

Happy Thanksgiving to all Bears... those who post and those who lurk... may your day be filled with food, family, and football if you can't get out and make some turns.

Life is good, and I am grateful...

and, Happy thanksgiving to you all..

I'm thankful to be able to share with my friends and family all the blessings that have been given to me.

Spent the day with friends and my wife first shooting archery, then cooking and visiting with my extended family. Many friends of mine are ailing. I'm thankful that most are recovering well. My aunts and uncles grow older and are in poorer health each year. I'm thankful to be able to share a meal with them.

Tee Hee. Thanks Dave...
I wasn't (pulling your legs) when I first wrote the post. Then I did a google search...and decided to "play" along anyway, since Bonni wrote Nobody with a capital "N".
Still, I don't get the message from Bonni, i.e. why I shouldn't like Sara Lee corp...
