A few more thoughts...as you go faster the ski has more force applied to it, so the possibility is there for the ski to work more in one's favor.
Here is another thought from page 130 of the Dec issue of "Skiing"....."The risk of collision is greater when two skiers are going the same speed.........There is no time for hesitation when passing. Step on the gas and you'll spend less time in the headlights of distracted skiers."
Faster is better ...as long as you can control things....no matter what "fast" is.
