I came across a very good book: Functional Training for Sports by Michael Boyle. If any of you have watched FitTV and seen Gabrielle Reece's show "Insider Training" and wondered about all the newer exercises that a lot of pro and elite athletes do, this book will explain a lot. Boyle, who used to train the Boston Bruins, takes your through the entire range of "functional" exercises from beginner to advanced. It also has an early chapter on self-assessment, which is pretty good, too.
