Here's my .02.
We've Been driving SAABs for over 30 yrs in snow country where 30-40 below zero and vicious windchill sometimes approaching 75 below zero is a reality every winter .
They ALWAYS start and go thru the damnedest whiteouts when only a few cars get thru . I regularly see all kinds of 4wd's in the ditch , or overturned when furious whiteouts blow off the St Lawrence river . With great tires , traction and stability controls ,AWD mtn roads in the east and Canada have never been a problem
Every yr about 30 of us hit Tremblant for a 4-5 days .My SAABS have been in ungodly cold at Tremblant for several days and started on the first crank when Volvos required assistance - this has occurred more than once
Enuf so that several former Volvo guys in our group switched to Saab or went for Subies or the that Saabaru or Suberaab
