I would think that a race-stock slalom ski would be a lot of fun for you doing the equivalent of a slalom race, and if you have other skis for teaching and free-skiing in general then go ahead an treat yourself to one, but if your going to be skiing all day every day on it, then get a "retail" version.
Some impressions from a 165lb experienced skier who taught himself to ski by imitating the DH racers (Podborski, Read, et. al.) on his SG Race skis for too many years, before going on a quest for a short radius new-style ski last winter.
Rossi - The 9S Oversize is very nice and quick, but not happy going fast or making hard big turns. The 9X Oversize doesn't come close to the 9S in the quick stuff, not worth considering. Nice ski well damped forgiving a little weak though.
Atomic - I didn't get a chance to try the Atomic SL11, but other atomics I've tried had a really good feel for Ice. If I had been looking for a one-ski quiver for Ontario and Quebec, I would have said "sold" when I tried the SX11, but I was looking for tighter quick fast turns on smaller hills. A solid feeling ski.
Fischer - Another couple of skis to try, In order of progressing stiffness is the Fischer 8X, Fischer Race SC and Fischer WC SC. The RX8 has the advantage that you can ski fast or slow and do just about everything well. I felt it almost equalled the 9S Oversize in quickness, but really outperformed it goingfast. The fishers won't feel as well damped as the atomics on ice, but the frequency tuning really does work; you will be able to go quite fast on them. I just bought a WC SC as my small-turn small hill ski for our eastern conditions. I figure I'll be able to push it a little harder, and I don't need to ski slow. Works for me.
Solomon - A Solomon Equipe 10 SC gets a little jittery at high speeds and like the 9S can be overpowered all too easily, but is a treat making quick tight turns, almost telepathic. Lots of fun, extremely forgiving, can get knocked around in heavy slush and crud, not a powerful ski though.
Head - Why doesn't anyone demo these? I've heard lot's of good things about the i Slalom chip. Haven't skied any Head skis though.
Hopes this helps.
