Between 9 and 19 I skied every year on a regular basis, but then I left home and went to college, and my skiing became a once a year sort of thing and stopped after I went skiing at 23.
Fast forward 13 years, now living in Missoula, I vetured up to Marshall Mountain, a pathetic pimple of a ski hill (though the midwesterners might disagree with me on that). I skied one day, had a great time, but wasn't making enough money to take it up again, had no gear etcetera.
Two more years pass, and January of 2004 sees some pretty decent snow fall, so I go up to Montana Snowbowl, and I fell in love. I had some crappy Solomon rear entry boots that my feet were swimming in, and my K2 RRTD Sports in a 190. I struggled mightily the first day, but I was back, skied 9 days.
Last fall I upgraded my gear, new boots, and some Salomon XScreams, bought a pass and skied 57 days in the worst conditions seen here in 20 years, and became a far better skier than I ever was before the long layoff.
So any way, I'm in the 10-15 range. I can't help but wonder how I'd be skiing if I hadn't missed all those years. Oh well, I'll be making up for lost time from now on.
