Mammoth Opening?

Mammoth is projecting Nov 10th for opening. Doesn't seem like they've had a good dump yet but maybe I'm wrong. Does anyone know what kind of snow they have or will have around that time? I'll be in SF and wondering whether I should bring my board for an excursion.

Heard yesterday that opening has been pushed back until the 15th

I belive MMSA will be open on the 10th. The temps are good, and they should be able to make quite a bit of snow. They always open on a Thursday, to make sue chair one still works, so the 15th will not be opening day. See you there on the 10th.

Either date works for me since I'll be in SF until Sunday the 13th for the Stones concert. Drive down Monday - start riding Tuesday, woohooo! Thanks for the feedback.

Chair 1 is Broadway Right? If they don't get a couple of feet of natural snow what else could be open on the Mountain. I plan on being there for a day or two the week after Thanksgiving.

A big storm is coming across the Northern Sierra on Mon and Tues of next week. We're looking at about 12-16" at South Lake on Mon. Will this translate to Mammoth and high amounts of Inyo area snow totals. Maybe, maybe not. I feel the itch for Sierra snow for sure. Kirkwood was open on the 22nd of October last year. I'm dying man.

Where do you see that, Ox? When I look at NWS, it only looks like mix of rain and snow with accumulations around 3-4 inches. Maybe the NWS projection doesn't count the totals as you go up in elevation on the mountain.

Keep in mind that if we do get a decent ammount of snow Monday PM, than Tioga Pass will close, and SF is a long drive on the 50. Without any natural snow, Broadway will be the only chair/run open on Thursday. If we get a bit of snow, who knows. Usually the next priority is Chairs 2, 11 and 3. I plan on skinning up tomorrow, and making a few turns.

I think Tioga pass is already closed.
