I grew up in Europe, skiing mostly the French Alps, but moved to America last year. So far I've been out to Utah, Fernie and the Bugaboos...the snow in Utah was some of the best I've ever come across, but I fell hard for British Columbia - what a place! This year my friend and I are looking to get up to the Lake Louise area, or Banff, but wondered if anyone knows a good, cheap place to stay in either of those towns. We'll have a car, but we're just pretty ignorant about hotels and such. Online reviews have been totally confusing. So my questions are: which is the best resort up there? Where should we stay? eat? has anyone else had their eyes opened, like me, by how great skiing on this continent is? We're both aggressive (but sensible) off-piste skiers in our twenties, who live in big cities and dream of skiing every day so we'd like to have some fun, but the skiing is the most important thing. Any input would be much appreciated :. This site is great, by the way.
