skis for hard conditions

Thread Starter
I'm looking for some skis for hard conditions (read "eastern"). I'm an intermediate/advanced skier, 5'10", 165 lbs. I been told about Dynastar Skicross 8 and 9, also Atomic C8:18. Any ideas, opinions or suggestions?

I am the same size as you with an 5 extra pounds. I am about the same level skier as you too. My short list of skis are:

Dynastar Contact 9, 165cm
Fischer RX6, 165cm
Volkl 5*, 168cm

I am not a fan of the Atomic bindings, so they are out. Skicross skis are all-mountainish and typically okay on eastern ice and hardpack but not great. True carvers work better unless you plan on going off piste.
