Hi Folks,

I would love to hear what people recommend for the following requirements:

  • 2 skis up to 190cm tall plus poles
  • padded
  • wheeled
  • able to carry boots and clothes
  • can survive airplane travel

Thanks, in advance, for your help!

You might try a search. This has been discussed in other threads recently. But while I am writing: I have a Dakine concourse double. Meets all your requirements. I've used 4 or 5 times so far, no problems.

Check epicski supporter, Snowshack.com - they have a ton of bags that are long enough too..

REI (www.rei.com) usually has some inexpensive, utilitarian ones. Last year I saw they had a few with wheels. If they break, fray or otherwise get cut up, you can always return 'em.

Check out Bag Depot. Not wheeled but priced right. I have a single and it is very well made and padded also. Handles are big enought to wear as a backpack. Great value and workmanship.

I second this recommendation, though with reservations:
  • It is very bulky though it comes in longer and shorter versions; some Taxi drivers at DCA refused to haul them (granted this is DC, I wouldn't expect this kind of treatment in most places in the US)

    On the plus side:
  • It stows a lot of gear, is very well made, and is nicely padded.
