Helmet Recommendations - Page 2

I'll just say what other sane people are saying -- go to a few ski shops and try all the helmets you can until you find one that just 'feels right.' You'll know it when you see it.

Any mainstream helmet you buy is going to protect you when you hit a tree or go head first into a rock just about as well as anything else, and certainly better than your hat or headband (circa '87).

From what I've seen, Giro has a lot of helmets with different shapes to fit a variety of heads. They're also in many ski shops, so it might be a good place to start.

POC has just joined the US Ski Team POOL and signed up Libby Ludlow, Jonna Mendes and Julia Mancuso- they are making a serious commitemnt to race market - they also are in the Swedish POOL. As far as race helmets I am certain they have the best technolgy and certainly the best safety. To me that should apply to recreational use as well. After all what is your head worth? Or your kids? I would also stay away from any inmold helmets like GIRO as they have limited penetration protection and hard shell helmets often tranmit the brunt force to the head as they have no shock aborbtion capacity likek the POC product. I am ordering one myself and for my kids. They have awseome goggles and gloves as well - and their back armor is first rate.

Given that there are some significant differences in the construction of helmets, I don't know if that's the case. Though there's very little information on the subject anywhere.

My vote goes to Briko Forerunner. Has microbial wicking liner, adjustable venting and Briko Icarus goggle fits perfectly.

This is the helmet & goggle bode uses except it has an adjustable vent.

This is the 3rd season with mine. Also if you run any gates removable slalom bar is available.
