I'm Looking for 1 used Volkl Vertigo Motion

Anybody have one 177cm. Vertigo Motion they want to get rid of cheap?
I have a pair but one ended up getting bent. A shop sent them back to Volkl for me and they said "Hey, tough luck, how about you just buy a new pair instead."

So here I am. I understood from the guy in the shop that these got bent very frequently, so maybe somebody has a solo unbent one they want to ditch. Binding not needed.

How about a pair cheap? That might be considered. Any suggestions?
Muchas Gracias.

I have a 177 G3. $100.

At the risk of being accused of hijacking your thread, why are these skis prone to bending? Are they not built to Volkl's usual bulletproof specs?

How do you like the skis?

Bud Heishman is selling a pair of G3's; I don't recall if they're the Motion varient or not.

I have a pair of G3 motions 177 in great shape - 3 seasons on them <45 days that I may be looking to get rid of - problem is i'm broke right now and possibly moving out of state and might not be able to afford to buy new skis now. I'm willing to entertain any offers - PM me or reply to this thread

Contact Volkl. Ask for the warrenty department. Ask for the Manager and tell him you need one ski. Ask him if he has any singles laying around, usually they do. Have your ski with you, sometimes they will want to match up the VIN range. This is how I got my one Metron to match the one I got on ebay.

I've got a pair to sell. They are actually in pretty good shape, but one of them has an edge busted out. They ski fine if you leave the busted edge on the outside.
Send me a PM.

I assume you do mean just one ski. I'd also need another binding with that since the binding on my bent ski is a Motion binding and wouldn't fit a G3.

Even so, only Phil Pugliese can ski with two different color skis on his feet all day long. Its just too distracting for mere mortals. Still looking for a color match here.

The shop that sent them back was a large Volkl dealer at Beaver Creek. I believe the shop manager tried that route himself - and he was certain before shipping them back that he could get a replacement ski because he said that Volkl usually takes good care of him. He was rather surprised when they rejected doing anything. They said the skis were too old, and I'm almost certain he also tried to get a single replacement ski but they didn't have any left because they bent so often.

As a matter of fact, one of the shops we stopped into had several bent Vertigos in the back that they showed me. No dice on a solo there either.

LOL, the drugs help.

The origonal "The Ski" were two different colors...one was yellow and the other was blue. Also Atomic's ARC series fromthe early to mid 90's had a ski that one was yellow/ black writing and the other was black/ yellow writing.

Just sold em. $100. cash on the barrel. They are in great shape. I am not keeping old skis - never take them out again. Let him ski em before they become too old.

BOY, what a great time for some insight as to "is/Was;-)..the G3 and Motion the same ski!".... A donation of yourself to ski_science Carvemeister....you should automatically go into the Epicski Hall of Fame for this one...

Would anyone care to remark on what the G3 is like to ski on? Is it snappy? Hard to control? Good in crud? Where does it excel? Where does it come up wanting?

Any comments would be appreciated.

G3 is an awesome ski! Great edge hold, good versitility, very stable but not too stiff. Good all mountain ski. I loved it.
I liked the G31 better. The bindings ripped out of my g31 so they sent me the g3. It's a great ski, however it is not a high end ski. I went to the 724 pro after the g3 and there is no comparison.

I would recomend the g3 for someone less than expert who is strong and willing.

Correction: The length on my g3 is 183 not 177 - not that it matters.
My only negative on the g3 is if you are big and aggressive you will want something a little more substantial at the very top end. But handles all terrain very well. I'm also on the 724 pro, Kick ass stable ski, awesome edge hold. For me, a bit too much for moguls. But it usually only tales one mogul run to remeber that I don't like moguls. Still I wish I skied them better.

Hopefully I'm just having a bad day, but I have no idea what I said to spawn such mockery? Is/was? : Huh?

I'm having a hard time following this thread myself. If you haven't found anything yet, I have a pair of the Vertigo Motions available in a 177. And yes, they do have a reputation for bending. Let me know if you're still interested.

........

Used to read a little Motion System vs G3 talk now & then. Seems as though it was a little of the system vs non-system _thing.
