Check your PM. This years salomon retail sl ski is nice and quick and all, but it is still built like the old one, so it will be no where near the performance level you are looking for. Now the LAB ski on the other hand might be a good route to go. I was blown away by the 182 LAB GS last year (if you are familiar with Salomon LAB skis, you undoubtedly know of the 182 GS ski). The LAB GS has the best edgehold of any ski i have ever been on in my life. I know that they totally reworked the slalom ski this year, so it is possible they were looking to adapt similar qualities to the slalom ski, which would essentially end up being the best slalom ski out there if they were suddessful in producing this much edgehold.
