I like marker...but then again i have only skied line, marker, and tyoria. I have a pair of Nordys with the N0311 Ti binding. Its real nice DIN tops out at 12 which is more than enough for most skiers. But this year i am springing for a nordy top fuel that i can get my hands on for a real nice price at a local ski shop. I am exicited...cause it sounds like a wonderful midfat "one quiver ski." Its intergated so i well have the N0514 Ti marker binding (has piston and XBS system). I don't know much about this binding in terms of DIN but i know it is a upgrade over the N0311 Ti. Hopefully, somebody knows more about the N0514 and could tell me a little about it?

P.S. Whats your setup and/or binding history

sandman,

the binding you are referring to is basically a comp 14.0. your N0514 has a din range of 5-14, a comshock piston in the toe, and the most burly consumer construction marker offers, which includes the twincam heel and generally more metal.

the other feature that your system has is the marker piston control, which is built into the XBS plate.

generally speaking, all markers with a din range up to 14 do not have Ti. in the construction. this is for strength and durability.

this binding is far superior to the N0311, which does not use the comshock piston in the toe, or the same release mechanism in the toe. you can compare the N0311 to a Marker 11.0Ti. binding.
