I suggest you do not consider an Icon. The only exception is the XT17. This a great boot for freeskiing and the H17 (plastic indicator) is quite soft.
You did not give any details about you foot shape. If you did, it would have been easier to recommend a boot.
Good point. I, unfortunately, don't know much about how my foot is shaped, oither than it is fairly odd. I'm working with Jeff Rich and he recommended that I choose either the X-Wave 10 or the comparable Technica as he felt they'd be the best fit for my foot, ankle (my ankle pronates A LOT and he thinks that these boots will be the easiest to work with to correct this). He took all sorts of measurements, but, now that I think about it, I didn't ask him what shape my foot is. I've heard a lot of things from different boot fitters. Some have told me my foot is narrow, some have told me my forefoot is wide. What I do know is that my arch length fits more of a size 15 while my shoe is actually around a 13.5. My arch is also pretty low, although with an orthotic, that shouldn't be an issue.
Hmm...me thinks I need to call Jeff Rich tomorrow and ask him about my foot.
