All mountain skis

Question: Many of the top all-mountain skis advertise as being for 50% on piste, 50% off-piste. Technically I know what that means, but for out West, in Colorado, would you consider back bowl skiing (Vail, Copper, upper parts of Breck, A-Basin) off piste if there is alot of pow?

I always thought Off piste meant natural snow that has never been groomed. That would include powder. I don't think the description is nor is meant to be precise enough to distinguish between different types of off-piste snow. If it's 50% Groomed 50% off piste, then my guess is it's probably not what you want to ski back bowl powder with.

Qualifier: It's been at least a dozen years since I've seen powder .
