A not yet revealed shop left this message on my answering machine, "the skis were ruined as the bore bit went through the bases as we were trying to fix the holes that we stripped out...." Anyway they said that they were irrepairable, which seems strange but I would rather not have them fix such such a #$*! up anyway. When one takes their virgin boards into a ski shop to get them "mounted", one never expects to have them deflowered in such a manner. I find it hard to believe that such a large respected shop would suggest they could only replace my new Apache Recons with the Apache X. I purchased the Recons from this same shop during last april's clearance sale and they offered to sell me this years Recon at 10% off the going rate. I can't afford this years Recons because they are only giving me credit at the highly discounted price I paid last year. I feel bad for the guy of "unwittingly" violated my skis, but should'nt the shop eat it and simply give me this years model for somthing less than an extra $230.00 Stay tuned for possible disclosure of shop name. They can still save their a$$ by giving a little in this matter. See more detail on situation by visiting thread from guy looking for "Flat 724 Pro"
