Metron M10 and M11 - good price?

What would be a really good price (from the buyer's viewpoint) for the Metron M10 and Metron M11? Also, just how different are these from each other?
I jsut paid 350 shipped for my son's 10's on Ebay, IIRC 11's are running 50 more.

Different ski, the 11 has more sidecut and is a snapier ski with more sidecut.

Truth is, I just dropped off my old boots at a ski swap and saw BRAND NEW Metrons, but the price was higher that what's quoted above. I'm just curious, that's all.

I've been looking for the 10 and the 11 on ebay since mid summer and can never find the size I need. I know that you are to ski the metrons short, but I gave up trying to find anything larger than a 164. I found them at sierra trading post and backcountry but they were $650 for the 171's or 178's. If you can find them in your size for $350, then you're styling. Good for you Phil! I gave up looking. I just bought the Elan M666fusions for $400 in the perfect (176) length for me. The atomic rep will not be pleased to see me in those this year.

Bill,

I had no issues at all finding the 10's in a 171. The seller on Ebay had multible listings of them on there for over a month. They were and still are 329 plus 20 for shipping. He was also awesome do deal with with very prompt shipping.

That's a really great price for the 10 at $350. I was considering selling my 11's at a shop's tent sale later this month and applying the credit for the B5, but with the prices on ebay for new Metrons, my 1 year old 11's I can't imagine selling for over maybe $375 with the Neox binding. I'd need another $600 or so for the B5. As a result, I'll be staying with the 11. I think its a great ski, but the B5 is a better ski on ice. As you have pointed out, the prices on ebay can't be beat.

Unless you can find a used b5...

I paid 17.50 for my M9's. I think that was a pretty good price.

Ha!

Most here seem to lean towards the M11. I favour the M10, I feel it has more power and think the slightly larger turning radius provides more versatility. The 06 version in particular is a little softer in the shovel for better terrain absorption. Can't say much about price especially in the states. If you have a length in mind I can check if there are any I can get a hold of and how much.

Missed them. Oh well. I'm excited to get on my 666's.

Phil, was that price on the M10 with or without bindings?

At the ski swap currently in progress, one of the wholesale vendors is selling the M11 with bindings for about $550. Don'r recall which bindings. These might be (almost sure they are) the 04/05 model.

Is there a discernable difference between the 04/05 and the 05/06 M11?

Call Deep Powder Ski Hut in Calgary & see what he has at what price.

I bought my 05/06 B5's & so did 2 friends of mine last season. Tell him I told you to call (Cliff Weiss)

He is Ski Deals on ebay.

his # is 403-270-3508 Only talk to Jjason.

Oboe: I got my M-9s for about $230 at the end of the season last March online, can't remember where. Picked up bindings for about $130 at another site. Look around online. Evan.

Evan, I can get the 04/05 M11 with Neox bindings for $500, new. I'm wondering what the difference would be between the 04/05 and the 05/06. I know the differences in dimesions - very slight. An additional 4 mm in the shovel, a silly single millimeter in the tail, and no change in the waist. I'm wondering what is the difference in their on-snow performance and feel.
oboe, be forewarned that those dimensional difference are catalog differences. AM measured them. They're the same.
I think Atomic just measured them in different spots on the ski in o5/06 compared to 04/05.

That was without bindings. CHeck Ebay, IIRC there are still some deals out there. I have some extra 06 Noex's if you need.

Forgive my ignorance. Are the Metron 10's similar to the old Rex 10's? I rented some 183cm's in Utah back in '02 and really liked them.

While they are completely different skis, they are targeted at the same skier. If you haven't tried them, you should!
