I would really appreciate any feedback from anyone who's skied on these in either or both lengths, who's style tends towards bomber style GS turns through all kinds of busted up white stuff. I like changing up my turns and like trees. I lean toward speed and of course a few nice turns. I had some K2 MSL's in a 204 but they were not very good at speed. I liked my old K2 "GS 10.0 Race" skis in a 208cm. Also had a Heart 210cm. GS race ski. The're 13 years old but did just fine in Targhee powder. What would'nt? Anyway, I'm looking at some "724 Pro's" and everyone's telling me to go with the 177cm. Why not a 184cm, I say? I weigh 165lbs. and am 5'11'. I know that is on the light side for a 184cm ski like the pro but I can still bend a ski and get it to arc by upping my weight through the centrifical force of a turn, right? I like to charge on down the mountain like a bat out of....... a cave in Afganistan being visited by a daisy cutter. OK, cheesy analogy but I do like to go "fast". I know I need to get used to skiing shorter boards, staying on top, ect... but hasn't the "go shorter" thing gone a little too far concerning those of us who can still rip through trees on 210's.....if we had to. Any input regarding Volkl 724 Pro length selection would be greatly appreciated.
