Real Snowfall Totals - PNW: Here it comes...

While exagerated snow reports suck, I'm all for real reports of snow.

Looks like Baker's snow line is dropping to 4K feet tonight, and 1 to 2 inches of real snow expected this weekend. As the big dope in Washington would say, "bring it on."

It would be nice to ski on haloween this year!

I drove US 2 today along the Skykomish valley towards Stevens Pass. It looked like the snow level was down to around 4500 or 5000 ft. First new snow I have glimpsed this fall.

After hearing the reports, I started preping my skis for the season.

Snowbowl had snow today, and still has some in spite of the sun coming out and melting most of it off of the front side. The season is getting close, and I'm going nuts waiting!

Edit: I just checked the Point Six weather station (the next peak over [.5 mi?]from the top of Snowbowl): it's 25 degrees up top and there has been an accumulation of precipitation this evening.

I hope the Northwest gets dumped on.

They deserve it.
