Boot Fitter in Puget Sound?

Folks, looking for an experienced fitter who can work on my existing boots. (I ripped my achilles and had it repaired 6 years ago, and need some modifications to lighten pressure on the back of my ankle.)

I life in Kirkland (Seattle), WA.

My PT suggested a guy in Bellevue: Jim Mates. (Also suggested Brent from World Cup Ski Service, but he's left town for TX.)

Anyone know Jim or have info on another good fitter?

Thnx/

Martin at Sturevants is always well regarded.

While I have not used them for boot fitting yet, Gerk and Vinnie at Gerk's Alpine Hut in Redmond are definitely on the ball (same location as the old Alpine Hut, but changed hands about a year ago). I'd check them out too.

I know several people who have gone to Jim Mates and they were very impressed with his work. His business is called Custom Boot Service.

The following information is from the Epic Ski site of bootfitters recomended by members:
Address: 6500 4th Ave NW Seattle WA
Phone Number 206) 297-9298

Thanks for the input.

Definitely need to check out Gerk's. Never been in there.

Jim Mate's I guess has moved his biz. The biz card I have on Custom Boots has them on Northup on the East Side.

If you have the current contact info maybe you can post it so that the "Gear info" section can be updated. Best wishes for a successful search and outcome.

Sean Bold is a boot fitter from Park City, Utah and he will be at World Cup Skier's Service in Bellevue this season.

He is also an excellent ski coach and does stance alignment analysis.

On Sunday, October 9, he will be available to do free stance analysis if you bring some video of your skiing with you to World Cup.
