Hey, another Goran (Goran Kropp) transported himself and all his gear by bicycle from Sweden to Everest, then proceeded to climb the mountain solo. He found his own way through the Kumbu ice falls avoiding the established route that uses ladders that have been put in place to bridge crevasses.
In his book "Ulimate High" he writes in passing about Davo Karnicar and his quest to ski from the highest places. This was before Davo nailed the big one.
I don't want to hijack the thread, but there are a lot of interesting things about Goran's expedition, it happened at the same time as the ill fated summit attempts documented in Jon Krakauer's well known book "Into Thin Air". His book is a great read if you can get ahold of a copy.
