White Pine, LCC, Utah - Photo TR

My wife and I decided to hike up to White Pine Lake, LCC yesterday. It's about 9 miles roundtrip with about 2500' of elevation gain and some beautiful views.

The hike starts out on a forested trail, then travels up several scree fields as you ascend above treeline.

Some avy carnage at the start of the trail:

The stream at the White Pine/Red Pine fork:

Fall colors starting to emerge:

The raspberries from this wild raspberry bush were unbelievably good.

Limbo, limbo, limbo like this boy:

You can see why this area is so popular with BC skiers:

Gaining elevation on the trail....

Still some snow up high:

Some more BC lines up here:

Finally above treeline and looking across to the other side of LCC:

After several ridges of scree and talus, we reached the lake. My wife Kim:

The lake sits in a basin inside a huge cirque:

Thanks for the comments. The camera is a Sony DSC-P200 digital, shooting 7.2 megapixels on automatic exposure and focus settings.

It's hard to take a bad picture with scenery like this.

About 35-40 degrees, I'd guess. Made my hand numb in less than 30 seconds, didn't exactly want to go for a swim.

Thanks for the report! White Pine was my favorite wildflower hike midsummer when I lived in SLC.
