3 buddies and I are going to Alta this season, any night life? Or should we hit a different resort?
Well, you can take whoever you hook-up with on the slopes to your room.

It depends on how friendly you are with your 3 buddies.

Guess we should keep looking? Although my 2 brothers and I one night hooked up with about 7-8 chicks in salt lake city. Talk about variety! I knocked off 2 continents in one night!! Asia and africa!! Amazing night! Those girls are starved for a good time!

You going to ski or to party? Alta is sort of remote. There are a few bars and you can always go to Snowbird right up the road, but it's not party central. SLC is a 40 min. drive. The skiing, though is tremendous.

There's a reason there called the Nosnatch range.

If you want to go to Utah and party too, Park City would be a better choice. The skiing IMHO, is not of the same caliber as Alta and the Bird.

Oh, I almost forgot....the Red Sox suck.

Ski-free

I must commend you. No not for the 7 chicks you hooked up with. Its been done before. But for your post. Most questions on this board are: Where should I go skiing in early december? Or I am in tahoe for 8 days - where should I ski?

Your post is truly unique? I don't believe anybody else on this board has ever asked this question before? "is there nightlife in Alta"?

Kudos, buddy.

But I am not rooting for your Pats. They stole the superbowl from my Raidaaahs!!!!

What, were you in town during the annual she-male convention, or the Miss Buttaface competition?

I hook up with 7'8" chicks everyonce and a while....

Chicks is a funny thing to write ...How 'bout gals or young ladies? Maybe "sluts" is more appropriate.

Question ski=free.... Were they all married to the same dude?

Actually, Snowbird is DOWN the road from Alta, and it's depending on where you're going in SLC and traffic, it certainly isn't always a 40 minute drive.

We were waiting to try to get into a bar, because out there you have to be a member or get sponsored. Not sure if it still that way. But we were approcahed by a guy who sponsored us. Once we get in there we ended up talking to 4-5 girls. We decided to get out of there and hit a few more bars. Next thing you know we are each getting close to 2-3 girls. Bar hopping all over the city. Well next thing you know we get seperated and the rest is history!

Short answer is, there is no real night life in Alta, in fact many of the hotels included dinner in the price. Frankly, I think the extra cost of the dinner was way out of line. But, since the road can close with a snow storm, I think the only way to ski Alta is to stay there.

Bring some good books. Then go to bed early so you can ski a good day the next day.

Are you implying that everyone in Utah is white and Mormon?

I think he was just having a giggle at the perceived whitebread Mormon population of the area. As your response implies, Salt Lake does tend to have a lot of non-mormons, unlike some of the surrounding communities.

That being said, I don't believe that there a lot of black, or otherwise dark skinned mormons. Remember that according to relatively recent Mormon lore, god struck early North Americans with dark skin for their bad behavior. This is why when all of the white people arrived on the continent, there were no white people on or around the land. The good white mormon folks who supposedly had once inhabited the land all had been slaughtered by the misbehaving dark skins somewhere in the murky past. Those same people had since lost all memory of their violent past.

So my understanding is that not a lot of Mormons are without white skin, quite understandably, given the history of that particular religion.

That being said, I skied the Wasatch again last year, and stayed cheap in the city, and I didn't even bother to go out. I skied and ate and hiked up. Going out in the downtown area is probably your best bet, or go elsewhere. Aspen maybe.

There's Alta Joes, if you like latte.

Kinda small though!
If you want to do both and don't mind the 45 minute drive each way, stay downtown. The cost of a hotel downtown and a rental car is probably less than staying on mountain anyway. If you're a gaper & not that discerning about the skiing, then Park City is the way to go.

But if you are serious about Ski=Free, there's no comparison between PC and LCC, IMO.
