SMJ I think you have the date wrong.

Hey Mango, Why don't you give it a rest. You can't win this and it's not a popularity contest here. We who've been here for many years know when to tune in or out and just let it go. Evidently you don't have the sense to do so and are only making it rough on yourself in the future. Causing problems can only lead to making yourself look worse than you already do. So, take my advice and just let it go before I start PMing people. You're not ready for the wrath of Lars.

Date seems right to me.

Lars, I resigned from the forum to keep myself away from engaging further in this. Now I'm getting threatened in an open forum for exposing hypocrisy. Believe me it's not just me that is making themselves and this whole place look worse.

I'm not trying to "win"anything, I just calls em as I see em - and seeing that post after such a sincere apology and so much love and appreciation was too much to ignore.

But I will let it go, I don't need this aggravation.

Silence can become so, so golden. Lars knows of what he speaks. Time to rest.

the date is correct.

SMJ eats bait for every meal.

but this wasn't bait it was a mean remark intended to let the jerk know how he made me feel -- disgusted by his idiocy. so I gave him an idiotically disgusting remark in return.

call the cops already SMJ. you're a fine one to do as you are. impressive to say the least.

forgive me for being human and backsliding. in another week maybe I'll be as honorable as the esteemed SMJ. if I work at it.

Keep this crap in the lounge, Gonzo. I don't evern want to be a supporter. Lounge sounds like vile snake pit. I think you should be banned for the post that MJS has refered to. Beat it troll. Apology accepted, now leave.
I have no intention of being a "tattletale." Your problem is yours alone to deal with.

I'm sorry if I've offended all of the gonzo supporters here, I'm but a mere human too going through my own difficult times.

I've already left the lounge. I'm through with this whole thing. Hopefully my silence will be golden, as oboe said.

At this point I would be embarrased to even show my face at an epic event frankly.
Enough is enough! Cut it out and act like a grownup! I have 13 year old students that act more mature than this!

Honestly, I am sick of seeing this crap! Lately, I don't even feel like stopping by Epic because of all of the bickering going on.

WE NEED SNOW DESPIRATELY! Maybe with some snow this crap will stop.

Get over it...I did. Last year with all the controversy one of my posts caused I got over it and went to the Stowe event.

Lewis Black is right. The citizenry of this country has lost what little sense of humor it once had.

Since I teach 3-7 year olds to ski/snowboard, I'll tell ya'll the same thing I tell them: "Sticks & stones may break my bones..."

The infected penis remark Gonz made was nothing more than a little b@ll-breaking w/ another b@all-breaker. It obviously was not directed at anyone else.

P.S. We definitely need snow!

Dude, it's all good. We are, what we are. Everyone has his/her own personality. Ski season is just around the corner. The summer was just a time to bullsh*t. You're a smart guy. Contrition is a good thing. I may know your plight. I, too, have experience as a NJ lawyer. It ain't easy.
I'm with Lars and teachski. SMJ, this forum has been no worse than it's ever been this time of year, and your Constant Whining is what irritates me, not any remark Gonzo says.

It's becoming personal for you, and unbecoming. Begone if you're going already.

especially when the Judge and Critic (SMJ) is demanding superhuman perfection.

if I held others to the "apology standard" that SMJ is using, I would never accept apologies or contrition.

hypersensitivity is curable.

as is being an azzwhole.

Gonzo,

Kudos for your bold mea culpa. It's a difficult thing to admit that one's behaviour does not live up to one's own sense of propriety and good manners.

The tough part, though, is still ahead of you. There are those in the internet community who, like Dems watching Bush or 'Pubs watching Clinton, have no interest in taking you at face value. They view your apology in the same vein that many of us view Bush's "I'm responsible" remarks, with more than a little skepticism. Some of them may have been on the receiving end of the behaviour for which you apologized, and may not be ready to shrug off behaviour that they found offensive. The true test of the sincerity of your apology will be how you respond to the less-than-friendly response you receive from some of these people.

My (wholly unsolicited) advice is that you take your own advice. Rather than respond to every comment that annoys you, you would probably be better off ignoring it. Continuing to engage those who, for whatever reason, still take umbrage with your behaviour is probably a losing proposition.

most likely you are correct, Colossus. if only you could see some of the disturbing PMs that people have sent me.

I guess there isn't an emoticon suitable for this situation. :

Well spoken methinks.

Colossus is a little late for supper. Isn't the apology ancient history, or is this still the new, reformed Gonzo? He stinks worse then ever to me.
Tele,

No, I've been following the thread since it's inception, and have been watching it slide off the rails like so many other threads. It seemed time to try to refocus, and maybe stop yet another thread from descending into a kindergarden shouting match.
OK, let's try one more time!? Gonzo, apologize again, we love you!
Gonzo,

Sorry to hear that you're getting hammered with annoying PMs. It should come as no great surprise, though. Anytime someone puts themselves in the public eye, they become a target (as every politician knows). That, and the fact that you have fairly generous with scathing criticism (much of which I confess I found needlessly vitriolic), it's no surprise that you're getting beat up a bit.

In any case, if you are sincere in trying to take a higher tone, this will be a great challenge, and I wish you luck in resisting the temptation to tell people off.
