Let's not make any assumptions about the guy. . . On the other hand, people who are retarded usually aren't so mean spirited.

Well, I'm kind of late to this one. Didn't read all the posts, didn't need to.

Gonz, I want to offer my support in whatever battle you're engaged in right now. You do what you need to do to get where you need to be. And remember, the road to internal peace is self built. Listen closely, and follow the lead of your true inner voice. Make a choice to Ignore the external clutter that seems to sometimes overwhelm our consciousness. Simplify.

Slatz sent me this. Seems appropriate to all of us. Thanks Slatz.

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a
battle that goes on inside people. He said, "My son, the battle is between 2
"wolves" inside us all.
One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret,
greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false
pride, superiority, and ego.
The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility,
kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith."
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather:
"Which wolf wins?"
The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."

I've been behaving contemptuously, haughtily, arrogantly, condescendingly, and worst of all narcissistically quite a lot lately.

that is not the face I want to offer the world, and it's not the person I want to be.

I'm working on my attitude and it may take me a while to become fully human.

if any of you has generous feelings left, I'd be grateful if you'd indulge me for a few months more while I try to get my noggin adjusted to the proper azimuth.
Waaaaahhhhh! this message sucks.

I'm boycotting until you come back.

I imagine Gonzo laughing at all the syrup that's being spewed in his direction. For years and years, Gonzo has launched attack after attack at those who had the misfortune of stepping on his toes. Toes that must stretch from Montana to god know's where. I haven't had the pleasure of meeting Gonzo in person like some of you, but online he has gone out of his way to show that he is the type of guy who would gladly ram his knee to groin of the stranger who had the misfortune of offering Gonzo his hand in greeting. And take pride in it.

I think Churchhill once said about a colleague, "I admire none of his vices and dispise all of his virtues." For some reason that comes to mind.

So patronizing posters is the new mode, leaving arrogance as the common thread.

What is up with this place? I just signed up, had a good time talking about skiing and BSing with people who know their stuff. Now I dig a little deeper and find some guy named Gonzo apologizing for typing a bunch of binary code onto an anonymous network, and some guy named xdog or something who is clearly trying to incite people and everyone jumps right in to buy a big slice of what he is selling. What the heck.

Let's talk about snow...that stuff is real, the rest is just electronic code. We all know there are a-holes out there (I may be one, you may be one, or maybe not), why stop em...ignore them, challenge them but accept the consequences, or leave. You have the same three options on the top of a scary ski hill that exists regardless of whether you want it to. (a) Ignore the hill and stay away, or (b) challenge it and take the consequence or (c) show up and then decide you dont want a piece and leave.
