Unsure about rossi soft technologyhi Jeff,
great thread mate
1. Background: I am an aussie (21) who first started skiing in Vale at the age of 3, since then I have never missed a season (or good weekend in OZ!) and have been back to the States on a few occassions. I am an advanced skiier who is aggressive edge to edge and prefers the short-sharp stuff rather than big radius stuff. I am a bit old-school and probably havent adapted my style as well to the dynamics of serious parabolics but that said I am still proficient at what I do and have an awesome time doing it!
2. I had a good relationship with a guy at Rossignol who used to give me good deals and about 4/5 years ago he sold me the first Rossi "Soft" boot with a bit of front flex but nothing lateral. At that stage it was new technology and was supposed to be the next big thing but I really am not so sure...
3. So my question...I am the last in my family to still ski them (the others past them up for stiffer boots) but after spending a month skiing some tricky steep/cruddy/bumby back country in NZ I found that they really didnt serve the purpose I had in mind for them? It reaffirmed the criticism that soft technology is really just for leisure skiiers or can they work well for a young and agressive all-mountainers?
4. I am off to colorado and am thinking of getting a new pair of boots, I need a really really wide cast but am looking for something that performs well all-mountain? Any suggestions,
I know you are really popular here so any help would be greatly appreciated!
