Well whether HE has the money is certainly a big part of the question. I get the feeling that there is some big money lurking behind him somewhere, but he is just the beach head, as it were. He's already cut runs on his property, but during warm winters it won't hold enough snow for skiing. It's almost like the appearance of a ski area to help sell property.
There certainly are local businesses that would stand to gain from the project, and they have their support in local government. I can't blame McClay for trying to bail out his failing ranching business by developing his land, but the specter of big money developers behind the deal, and how this developement will impact the local community, kind of sours me on the whole idea.
