I don't think you're confused-I think you just disagree.
As an overall resort, I would say Killington is better than Hunter (better overall restaurants, better variety (a lot more blue cruisers), and better overall lodging). However, if we're talking about straight up skiing, I'd have to agree that Hunter is better than Killington overall for the people that like steeper trails. You don't need to traverse from one section to another to hit most of the steep stuff, and all the trails on the west side folllow the fall line, with no interruptions from traversing trails. If you like trees or terrain parks though, Killington is still the winner. If you like nice long steep trails, Hunter is the place to be! I find most steeper trails at Killington to be either too short, or they get interrupted by other trails crossing through. I do love Cascade though!
