Several threads here discuss the B5, M:EX and M11. Any opinions on the M10-M8 models? I am considering this for a 5'4" 110 girl, excellent skier but not super aggressive, skis both east and west and will be doing some recreational racing. I think Rossi B2s would be fine but would appreciate any other opinions.

I have a younger friend who weighs in at about 120lb. Very aggresive carver not so in moguls and other non groomed conditions though. She had a ball of a time on my 162 B5s(her normal ski is 160 R11). got thrown around in bumps but skied everything else better on them. It was tough to get them back lol.

Anyways i would be looking at 152 B5 or M11, at your size, and skiing ability. As a bonus since almost noone buys that size when you find them they can be alot cheaper. Demo them if you can i doubt they will be to stiff.

Atomic Balanze series, instead of the unisex series, may be a better choice. Perhaps the B:11 (see http://www.atomicsnow.com/0506/englisch/flash/home.php).

How do the bindings on the Balanze series compare with the Metrons? I seem to recall that Atomic uses an older, possibly inferior, binding on the Balanzes.

There seem to be some very good deals on the Balanze skis: e.g. $350-400 including bindings. Too good to be true?

drb, no, it's just that the Balanze didn't have the press coverage that others have had. Great opportunity for a great ski. I'd say, "Go for it!"

M9 in a 157 or the Balanz 11 in the same. Essentially the same ski with some girlie bits. Some balanz are available with the device binding which is older design but also lighter. I believe in the states you can get them ready for the newer neox as well.

I am trying to find out the difference between the 06 B11 Metron and last year's Metron Balanze skis. Atomic does not seem to list the Metron Balanze in their 04/05 lineup. I am looking for an advanced- expert all mountain ladies ski. I did like the 05 B11 when I tried it, but understand it is not a metron ski. Since there are some good deals right now on the Metron Balanze, will this be a good substitute.

04/05 Balanze 11 puls - 117/65/103 (11m)
05/06 Balanze 11 puls - 124/74/108 (11.5m)

Two totally different skis even though their radius is similar.

The 04/05 is not a Metron ski. The 05/06 is considered a Metron because of it's wider waist.

My wife demoed the women's skis so I can't pass judgement.

If you want to use wife, woman, and wider waste in the same post, you are a braver person that I am. :

I think it was actually a late season introduction last year. I never knew it existed until I saw it listed on EBay. Snuck in under the radar!
