ski advice??

Thread Starter
I've only been skiing a few times, and I am absolutely hooked!!! I would like to buy a set of skis, but I'm not really sure about what kind to buy. I'm 29 years old, 5'0 tall, 110 lbs. I would say that I'm between a level 6 and 7 skier.

Since I just moved to the Boise area, most of my skiing will be done around this area (Bogus Basin, Tamarack, Brundage, and Sun Valley).

My goal is to just become a better skiier...I don't have any intentions of ever being able to do any tricks. I usually like to ski down groomed trails, but occasionally I'll wander off the trails for a bit. I don't like to do this too much, but that could change with the right set of skis ( I've only used rentals before--I don't even know which ones, and going off groomed runs proved to be a bit too bumpy on those).

I've never bought a pair of skis before, and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions about skis they've used and liked or disliked.

I'm looking at the Bandit B1 W and the Salomon Siam 7. Has anyone used those, or am I even looking at the right kind of ski for me?

Check out the Ski Gear FAQ at the top of this forum. If you expand your question to include the information suggested, you will likely get some very good responses.
